x_Bill Bruford letters [7 Images]
BY SPECIAL INVITATION ONLY (name & passwords are case-sensitive): These are scans of some of the letters I've received from my friend, mentor, big brother and a beacon to my direction, Mr. Bill Bruford, drummer/percussionist extraordinaire, who has worked with Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, UK and he is the inimitable progenitor of progressive music and defined a logical standard for all to follow to aspire to. There has never been another like Bill Bruford (he is certainly alive and kicking don't misunderstand). In these letters, I have deleted addresses and a few parts too personal to share with everyone. These are some of the letters from the 1970s into the 1990's. You will find that Bill is a most considerate yet passionate man who happened to like my music out of the tons of tapes he must have received, decided to send a letter telling me his feelings about the music, which is where it began and continued throughout several decades. He always responded when I sent him tapes of my music (8 tracks to compact disc formats covered in these letters).
Bill Brufords words always will be the ultimate compliment for my work. I do not confuse any "talents" he liked me for with hard work and I have worked very hard in trying to write good music and sing and play it since as early as 1967, but after these letters started coming, I was dead serious. Are there more like me out there? Yes, of course, but not really that many, according to Bruford. Yet it is all so very subjective. Of my more than 40 albums I'm proud of every invention, every re-invention throughout and my intentions were well intended. I seem to know better now though and more clearly. I am happy to share some of Bill Brufords letters with a few friends and all that I ask of you is to not be judgemental. Were it not for the repressive grip that MS had on me physically, spiritually and musically for almost ten years until fairly recently due to a remission, I might have recorded more than 60 albums by now. Either way the story is not over and I have been very blessed to receive my walking strength back (although MS may return at any time, relapses are unpredictable and am still fully disabled by arm/elbow pains that have remained with me).
